“We're not here to leave a mark, bro. Monuments, legacies, marks - that's where we always go wrong. We're here to revel in the world, to soak in the awesomeness of it, to enjoy the ride. The world's maximum perfect as it is, beauty from horizon to horizon. Any mark any of us tries to leave - hell, it's only graffitti. Any mark anyone leaves is no better than vandalism"...Dean Koontz

I am always challenged when it comes to paintng trees and now I know who I need to learn from! This is stunning!

This is a great example of how when painting something green in nature, it's not just green. It's taken me a long time to learn that. I just dread painting tree holes! - and yours are so well done here. (Also really like the quote and hadn't heard it before).

Your landscapes are always so inspiring ... (as well as the quotes you share with us).

Loved reading about your Oz meeting and rubbing elbows with Turner ... But, that new web-site is awesome! I keep telling my hubby I need a Mac.

Thanks, all. I feel I have sooooo much to learn about painting landscapes, but I'm so inspired by nature that I keep trying. You all are way too kind. My current favorite landscape painters who continue to inspire me are Kevin Macpherson, Tom Brown and Kenn Backhaus. They all use different palettes, but are wonderful at capturing the scene with beautiful brushstrokes and color.
and yes, Nancy, I do love my Mac!
happy painting all,
Faye

What a majestic scene! You did such a great job on this. Love the short strokes and mix of colors you used in the foliage.

Hi Faye, I have an award for you on my blog. If you choose to pass on this, I understand.

Very well done, Faye!! I like it all but my favorite thing are the bits of red among the foliage!
