What a cool chair! Wouldn't it be interesting to know about the various characters who've sat in it over the many years?

I like the colors in this painting and I like chairs like this. They're comfortable and sturdy. A nice chair in which to settle and read a book. I wonder what the reader is reading. I like the way you've captured the book with the pages open.

mj and paz,
This chair is in a old Victorian home built in the 1800s, and does indeed have a history. As I passed by the room, I was captured by the light and envisioned previous owners reading here, so I added the book. It was my first attempt at painting velvet.
thanks for your comments,
Faye

Lovely painting Faye, you did a good job on the velvet. The painting has a sense of welcome and warmth.
